Overview

Herald Christian Health Center (HCHC) is a faith-based, mission-driven community clinic seeking a Primary Care Physician (Board-Certified or Board-Eligible) to join our team in Los Angeles or San Diego.

We are recognized by The Joint Commission with the Gold Seal of Approval to provide comprehensive care including medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and acupuncture to low-income and immigrant communities across the San Gabriel Valley and San Diego. Our patients are primarily limited-English proficient immigrants from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

Mission & Passions

HCHC is dedicated to providing compassionate spiritual care to patients through personalized support and faith-based services. Our team visits patients to offer prayer, Bible sharing, and Gospel preaching, fostering spiritual well-being during their healthcare journey. In addition, we provide Bible resources to patients who express interest and consent to receive them. For those open to exploring Christianity, we offer referrals to local churches for further support and community. HCHC also extends emotional and spiritual care to the families of patients who have passed, ensuring a holistic approach to support during times of loss.

Job Title: Family Medicine Physician

Job Description 

We welcome both experienced physicians and new graduates who are passionate about serving underserved communities.

Under the guidance of the Medical Director, you will:

  • Provide full-scope primary care for adult and/or pediatric patients

  • Practice evidence-based medicine while adhering to established clinical guidelines and protocols

  • Focus on wellness, prevention, and continuity of care

  • Collaborate with an integrated care team to support physical, mental and emotional well-being of patients

  • Use eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR to ensure timely and accurate documentation

Qualifications Education, Skills, & Experience

  • MD or DO from accredited medical school

  • Completion of an approved residency program

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Primary Care specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med-Peds)

  • Active California Medical License & Current DEA License

  • Bilingual in English/Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) preferred

  • Strong communication and cultural competency

  • Meet credentialing requirements of HCHC’s Board of Directors

  • Knowledge of public health principle is a plus
