We are a non-profit, Christian primary care and mental health clinic located in New York. Our neighborhood is one of the poorest neighborhoods in our city, and our primary focus is providing high quality medical and mental health care to people from our neighborhood who might not be able to access it otherwise.

Job Title - Medical director

Job Description· 

The medical director delivers primary health care services at the clinic. S/he provides compassionate, high quality care to the underserved in New York’s Capital Region in a Christian environment and provides direction and supervision to other clinical staff.

• Provide direct primary adult and pediatric health services, including gynecological care, to clinic patients.

• Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate and called for.

• Enter patient information in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate fashion.

• Develop patient treatment goals and work with clinic personnel in the development of patient-centered care plans.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.

• Provides appropriate clinical information on patient visits to permit appropriate grant or insurance billing.

• Supervise and provide clinical guidance to other providers, including mid-levels and junior physicians.

• Collaborate with and advise the executive director in the development of relevant policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with and direct clinic behavioral health personnel in providing appropriate behavioral health care for clinic patients.

• Participate in the off-hours on-call process as assigned.

• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.  

JOB Qualifications Education, Skills, & Experience

Required:

• Degree as a Medical Director (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited medical school

• Current license to practice in New York State, or the ability to obtain a license prior to the start of employment

• Board certification in family practice or internal medicine, or the ability to obtain certification prior to the start of employment.

• An active DEA license or the ability to obtain a license prior to the start of employment

• Agreement with clinic’s mission, vision, values and statement of faith and a passion to serve others in Jesus’ name.

Desired:

• Minimum of five years experience as a family practice physician

• Experience working with underserved populations and community-based programs.

• Strong verbal, writing and problem solving skills
