Job Title - Family Medicine Physician
The Family Medicine Physician participates in the delivery of excellent medical services in a patient centered medical home environment with an emphasis on the prevention of disease;
The physician provides quality and affordable healthcare to all patients regardless of race, gender, age, background, religion, socioeconomic status.
The physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries in a Family Medicine model setting; provides comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis.
The physician is expected to seek out alternative methods of treatment when cost poses a barrier to care; to prescribe necessary medication(s) and request appropriate referrals when needed.
The Family Medicine Physician also participates in various committee meetings to include Peer Review Meetings and Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) Committee Meetings to coordinate improvement in all areas of the clinic with an emphasis on the importance of the individual patient and putting their needs first.
The physician is also responsible for medical assistant (MA) clinical supervision and continuing verification of the MAs clinical skills competency.
The Family Medicine Physician reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
Job Qualifications Education, Skills, and Experience
M.D. or D.O. Degree from an accredited College or University.
Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency with 1 year of experience.
Current Board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Nevada.
Valid and unrestricted DEA and Nevada Controlled Substance license.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not mandatory.
