Our Free and Charitable Clinic exists to provide transitional primary healthcare, social and spiritual support, to low income, uninsured individuals in the Treasure Valley area of Idaho as an expression of the love of Jesus Christ. Our vision is that there would be access to health care and a path to well-being for every person in our community.

Job Title - Dental Clinic Coordinator
Job Description·  

  • The Dental Clinic Coordinator is responsible to manage the Clinic as part of an integrated medical home for lower-income, uninsured patients. This person works closely with all Clinic Staff and the Volunteer Dental Director.
    Clinic Coordination

  • Define scope of practice for the dental clinic in coordination with Dental Director and Director of Operations.

  • Work closely with medical staff to coordinate patient care

  • Organize, maintain, and sterilize dental and lab supplies within established budget

  • Assist chair side as needed
    Personnel Leadership and Coordination

  • Manage dental clinic staff and volunteers to create high quality and compassionate care

  • Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure everyone is working at the top of their licensure

  • Orient and train dental volunteers and staff

  • Manage relationships with volunteers to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and retention

  • Manage any clinic intern programs with local educational institutions

  • Assist in the recruitment of volunteers
    Patient Coordination

  • Oversee patient chart review and preparation for each week’s clinics

  • Provide scheduling triage of dental patients as needed

  • Schedule all referrals, new patient appointments, and existing patient appointments.
    Community Relationships

  • Participate in projects that would increase oral health care accessibility of those in need

  • Submit and track dental outcomes as needed

  • Maintain relationships with dental organizations, outside referring clinics, etc.

  • Publicly represent the dental clinic to serve more patients and recruit more volunteers

Job Qualifications Education, Skills, and Experience   

Minimum Qualifications
• A committed Christian, demonstrating a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Completion of accredited dental assistant program and CDA
• Experience with radiography
• OSHA asepsis knowledge and dependability
• Prior dental management and chair-side experience
• Working expertise of dental terminology
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a dental clinic in an efficient and effective manner
• Ability to supervise and coordinate the work of other volunteers and staff
• Compassion for those facing economic difficulties
• A strongly self-motivated person able to succeed with minimal resources and supervision
• Able to work clinic hours as assigned
• Ability to pray for patients when asked

Superior Qualification
• Eagle Soft Dental Software experience
• Fundamental Duties, Expanded Functions Certification
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s in healthcare administration, business, public health or other related degree
• Fluent in Spanish, Arabic, or Swahili
