Job Title — Registered Nurse

Job Description

Working with patients from Detroit and surrounding communities, in a primary care, ambulatory practice setting, the nurse will support the physicians and patients through the use of clinical and educational functions including:

  • Triage of patients presenting with questions and concerns

  • Medication and compliance reconciliation, wound care, injections, medication administration, medical education, such as Diabetes education, weight management, etc.

  • Advocate for the patient’s best interest and make appropriate recommendations for follow-up with health service providers in the community to meet the needs of consumers

  • Works collaboratively in a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model

  • Must be willing to embrace patients and colleagues in support of the clinic’s mission and values

JOB Qualifications Education, Skills, & Experience

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, associate degree in nursing, or a Diploma in Nursing.

  • Must have a current Registered Nurse license

  • Prior RN experience in ambulatory care or OB setting is desirable

  • Proficiency with the everyday use of computers and Electronic Health Records will be essential

  • Knowledge and experience in using Athena is a plus

Just as important as clinical nursing expertise applicants should be able to effectively work in a multicultural setting and possess a willingness to work with under-served patient populations.
